MOVMNT: Zalando Launches Mobile Fashion Outlet App

MOVMNT

After Seen at Berlin (street style (German, Google Translate)), Amaze (‘Tinder for fashion’) and Zipcart (same-day delivery), MOVMNT is the next fashion app on the Zalando platform:

The MOVMNT app is a fashion outlet that gathers amazing and most varied products directly into your device.

The app allows you to browse products across a wide variety of fashion and lifestyle categories. All prices are highly competitive and information about where each article was produced is visible.

All payments are made via secure connections and orders shipped promptly directly via the shipping method selected. Customer service is also available free of charge.

We only partner with Sellers who meet our minimum requirements for product quality and social standards.

With the launch of Zipcart Zalando’s mobile strategy became quite clear and MOVMNT fits perfectly in:

Like Amaze before it, which is by a startup not by Zalando itself, Zipcart shows that Zalando’s new app portfolio approach makes a lot of sense. Zipcart is a regional offering and will only slowly be rolled out to other metropolitan areas. It uses push notifications to communicate the exact time of arrival. It can have a different range of products without complicating the overall shopping experience at Zalando.

The only question is how many apps Zalando expects its users to install. Or, how many they are willing to install.

Interestingly, besides Amaze, which is from a startup (TheAmazeApp GmbH) and already a few months old, not a single one of these apps launched on both iOS and Android. In fact, they launched on different mobile platforms:

  • Zipcart: Android only for now
  • Seen At Berlin: iOS only for now (It is telling that this app is the first app from ‘the Studio’.)
  • MOVMNT: Android only for now
