Selling services to sellers is a lucrative endeavour for marketplaces. For Amazon the size of the marketplace opens up new business models. Also, Amazon Prime and Amazon’s marketplace are intertwined in several ways. One is making the other stronger and vice versa. (Given the costs that come with Prime, Amazon Prime itself is not a strong driver of direct profits of course.)
